No one can predict when a disaster will strike. Illness, injury,

loss of work or reduced work hours can cause a money crisis

for many families. This dilemma is why the Christian Service

Center was formed by the Pleasure Island Ministerial

Association in 1991. This non-profit agency offers “hands-up”

emergency assistance to the residents of Fort Morgan, Gulf

Shores and Orange Beach with a food pantry program, an

emergency financial aid program, an agency referral program,

a Children’s Birthday Club program, a Meals on Wheels program,

a Handicap Equipment Loan project, a Christmas Spirit

Senior program and a Christmas Cheer toy and food program

from their location at 317 Dolphin Ave in Gulf Shores from

Monday through Friday 9 AM until noon.

The latest U.S. Census Bureau report lists Alabama as the

ninth highest state with children under 18 living in poverty at

23%. The needs of the clients come first to the leadership at

the CSC.

The Christian Service Center is able to provide confidential

services to hunger-challenged families from the support from

area churches, businesses, schools, service clubs and organizations,

local merchants and restaurants and individual donors.

In 2007, 2629 clients received food and 1248 clients received

$101,692.75 in emergency financial aid.

Miracles happen everyday at the CSC because of the continued

dedication of its volunteers and the Center’s community support.

If you or your organization would like to volunteer or

offer support to the CSC the postal address is Christian

Service Center, P O Box 882, Gulf Shores, Al 36547. The

Christian Service Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization

and all food and monetary donations are tax deductible. For
