Ragtops and Flip-flops

It is not often you can reward yourself two-fold, but today is the day. Music history is within your reach. Singer-songwriter, Brent Burns, has donated his one-and-only 1989 White ragtop Chrysler La Baron to aid the clients Christian Service Center of Gulf Shores. A Gulf Shores food bank and emergency aid nonprofit agency manned by a staff of dedicated volunteers.

This classic white convertible, now available from the Christian Service Center, made its mark in music history with Burns 2008 Trop Rock Music CD of the Year Award titled Ragtops and Flip-flops. Trop Rock music is a popular music that incorporates elements and influences of rock and roll music, reggae, country music all with a tropical flare.

Burns fans will recall this particular car making its mark in his song, Top Down and Ridin Around. Now his famous white convertible is available to the highest bidding music fan and the proceeds will help feed local children.

Besides his fun loving side, Brent Burns, a 2008 Trop Rock Entertainer of the Year winner is credited for his Habitat for Humanity tribute song, Build Them a House, his support of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo The Little Zoo That Could, and a concert benefiting injured solder P.D. Rains of the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Burns generosity to help the Christian Service Center will further their mission to feed local families with children in financial distress. Since opening in 1991, the Christian Service Center has come to the aid of 32,400 clients, including 15,000 children. Their all-volunteer staff makes the Center's overhead one of the lowest in the nation. Every dollar taken by the Center goes back to help this community.
